These include playback 'anchors' with associated 'play from' and 'play to' commands, and adjustable pre/post-roll settings, so you can more quickly audition different portions of your audio files. This, of course, is in constant use, and whereas it was previously partly duplicated on the Central Switcher Bar, and at risk of getting lost among the other Command Bars, it now sits above or below the main waveform windows, consolidating all the existing transport commands into one neat area and offering a number of improvements and new options.

The most obvious change across the Audio and Montage windows is the redesigned Master Transport Panel. There are also, of course, numerous new features.

This time around, there's a massive 823-page Operation Manual in PDF format for those who fancy some computer-based bedside reading matter, with the same in-depth information available as context-sensitive help from within Wavelab 8 itself. The biggest sore point about version 7 for many users was the lack of a comprehensive manual, so let me reassure you on this count right away.

I even found myself noticing for the first time smaller items that had appeared in Wavelab 7. From subtle changes in parts of the GUI colour scheme that provide greater contrast while helping to tie everything together, to the new design clarity of many of the icons, which makes their function more obvious, this latest version is instantly familiar, yet easier to take in at a glance. The first thing that struck me when I launched the new version was just how slick it looks compared with version 7. Nearly three years on, Wavelab has taken further strides forward in version 8.

Not only were there numerous new features, but for the first time it became a cross-platform application running on Mac OS X as well as Windows.
#WAVELAB 8.5 EDUCATIONAL UPGRADE#
Version 7 of Steinberg's Wavelab audio editing package was perhaps the biggest upgrade in the program's history. Note, in particular, the new Master Transport Panel across the bottom, the better use of colour for highlighting, the Speaker Configuration section at bottom left, and the new MBIT dither options.Īlways moving with the times, Steinberg's Wavelab now includes comprehensive loudness metering, along with new plug-ins and an improved interface. Just add the custom album art to this section and you can render WAV and mp3 files that are pretty much fully tagged and ready for use.no additional apps needed.Version 8 of Wavelab has, in my opinion, the clearest and slickest GUI to date.

Once this is done, any files your render from the montage using the option: multiple sources/regions/CD tracks should have the ISRC code embedded and you can double check with the free Sonoris app.Īlso, you can use a full metadata preset I created to transpose all CD-Text and ISRC codes into ID3v1 and ID3v2 metadata for rendered WAV and mp3 files, as well as adding the ISRC codes (when present) to the AXML field of the WAV. Then, you need to paste this text (the bold text below) into the AXML tab in the montage metadata settings (see the screenshot attached as

You can also use the Sonoris app to add or edit the ISRC codes but last I checked, editing with the Sonoris app wipes out any previously existing metadata.Īny ideas on what I'm doing wrong?First, make sure the ISRC codes are properly entered in the CD tab as you would to add them to DDP renders and CD burns. You can use the free Sonoris ISRC Editor app to verify the ISRC codes are embedded after rendering from WaveLab. Maybe look around the metadata fields and see if you find something that works for you. I've never bothered with adding the UPC in the metadata of WAV files and as far as I see, there is not a dedicated field for UPC but I could be wrong on this. It also transposes some other things like CD-Text to the appropriate ID3 v1 and v2 metadata fields. It will place the ISRC code in the aXML chuck and ID3v2 field along with some other things that you can remove if you don't want it. Then, before you render the WAV files from the montage, load this preset into the metadata tab in the montage. Thanks for the help!Enter the ISRC codes in the CD tab as you normally would for CD-Text/DDP in the WaveLab montage.

Is there a way to embed ISRC and UPC into a wav file (not the DDP), for delivery to a radio station? How? I know that if I render a DDP, or burn a disc from wavelab, it will include the ISRC and UPC (and CD Text) I've entered.
